Several Hong Kong artiste have been developing their careers in China and creating many jokes while speaking Mandarin in their Cantonese ascent. They include Louis Koo (古天樂) who films tyre advertisement, Nick Cheung (張家輝) when filming game commercial and Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健) speaks Cantonese mostly when he is supposed to use Mandarin in an interview. As for the female artiste, Ada Choi (蔡少芬) is conferred the title, Choi Liang Liang (蔡涼涼) by the netizens. Lately, the crew team agreeed to release the rap version by Ada in her original voice in the drama (海上嫁女記) and it went viral online quickly. The netizens remarked that she was cute and could surpass Louis.
In the past Chinese variety shows, Ada never fails to bring joys to the audiences and cannot resist to laugh when hearing herself rap in a recent interview. The director asked Ada to rap but she had no script and asked the director in return what she should rap when her family asked her. Ada then understood it was to match her action and defended herself in Mandarin: “It is good and not lousy at all.”
