TVB is currently rebroadcasting Detective Investigation Files III (刑事偵緝檔案III) at midnight and everyone has been waiting for Margaret Chung’s (鍾麗淇) appearance. She replaces Louisa So (蘇玉華) and acts as a couple with Joey Leung (梁榮忠) in the drama.
Margaret grows up in Canada and joins TVB acting classes after her lost in 1995 Ms Chinese Toronto Pageant. Her debut workpiece is Detective Investigation Files III series and she is given the third female lead role after Kenix Kwok (郭可盈) and Monica Chan (陳法蓉). It is considered a rare opportunity to a newcomer. In the drama, Margaret reported to Michael Tao (陶大宇) and was a bickering couple with Joey. Apparently, they fell in love in reality and behaved very sweetly after announcing their romance. However, Joey failed to stay loyal to Margaret and had an affair with Queenie Chu (朱慧敏). They were discovered having rendezvous in the car and it became a “car shaking” incident.
Although Joey cheated on her, but Margaret did not give up on herself and had a firm break up with him. She also withdrew from the showbiz gradually in the same year and her last workpiece was Summer Heat (心慌．心郁．逐個捉) series in 2006. While filming a tour show in Australia in 2002, Margaret got to know Almen (黃佩霞) who introduced her to hot yoga lesson and was addicted to it as a result. Subsequently, she studied the course and became a yoga instructor in 2005. Coincidentally, it happened to be the same year that Margaret ended her relationship with Joey. As his image was greatly affected and decreased workload, Joey decided to pursue two Master’s Degree and focus on stage plays in recent years. Consequently, their separation marked a turning point in their careers.
As the saying goes, if the old doesn’t go, the new will not come. Other than teaching yoga lessons, Margaret developed a new romance and was married to Myolie Wu’s (胡杏兒) former Eurasian boyfriend, Nardone Ruggero in 2010. She becomes a mother of two daughters, 7 years old Isabella and 2 years old Michela. However, Isabella is diagnosed with wolf-hirschhorn syndrome (4號染色體缺損綜合症) and there is 3 patients with this illness in Hong Kong only. She needs to rely on equipment to walk due to her fragile body. Nevertheless, it does not deter Margaret who has to work and take care of her family and set up Beyond Children Special Needs Fund (Beyond兒童特殊需要基金), in order to help the needy kids. It is obvious that she has a rough journey but Margaret manages to make her life colourful with her perseverance.
