TVB is currently rebroadcasting the 3 seasons for Detective Investigation Files (刑事偵緝檔案) drama at midnight and we finally see Michael Tao (陶大宇) and Kenix Kwok (郭可盈) have a happy ending in third season. As it receives excellent responses, it is definite for TVB for filming the sequel. However at the time, Michael had left TVB and Joey Leung’s (梁榮忠) was tarnished due to the cheating affair, it decided to change new blood for the fourth season. The new cast team included Sunny Chan (陳錦鴻), Louis Koo (古天樂), Jessica Hsuan (宣萱) and Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼). As for the previous cast team members, they will be returning in new role characters and it is easier for the audiences to understand the plot line.

The fourth season changes to a complete new story. The police station was transferred from Ma On Shan to the Central district and they will be continuing to investigate cases. Despite Michael and Joey’s absences, but there was hunks such as Louis acting as the police sergeant and Sunny disguising as senior police inspector. Louis investigated cases based on his intuition and experiences while Sunny had good analysing skills with a calm mind. Both worked happily and cracked cases together but faced relationship problems. Sunny was involved in a love triangle between Charmaine and Lee San San (李珊珊) while Louis cannot forget his girlfriend, Anne Heung (向海嵐) who went missing for many years and met Jessica at work. Anne appeared again when Louis was about to move on and caught in between them as a result.
