Hawick Lau (劉愷威) and his wife, Yang Mi (楊冪) have a 4 years old daughter, “little sticky rice” (小糯米) and he has been developing his career in Mainland China in recent years. She is currently taken care by her grandparent, Lau Dan (劉丹) and his spouse and seldom gets to see her father as a result. As 17th June 2018 was Father’s Day, Hawick felt emotional and sang a song (給寶寶的歌) to his daughter in Chinese singing show, Crossover Singer (跨界歌王) which made many audiences felt very touched. Apparently, he had some tears when thinking about his daughter in the preview clip before the competition.
Hawick received many compliments about his singing after participating Crossover Singer show. In one of the episodes, he chose to sing the song (給寶寶的歌) dedicated to his daughter and it was a meaningful song to him: “I love this song all along and sing it to her frequently. I hope it will remind her that I always sing it to her even when she has grown up.” Hawick’s tears begun to stream down on his face and he remained silent for a few seconds as trying to hold back his tears. The staff then passed him tissue and Hawick said: “I cannot control it once you ask me questions related to my daughter.”
Many netizens praised Hawick was a good father and some asked him: “What you are going to do if she is getting married? Perhaps you are thinking about your daughter is dating now.”
