Pinky Cheung (張文慈) joins showbiz for more than 20 years and is treated as an “A” grade actress in ATV for many years. In recent years, she works for TVB and films several drama such as Deep in the Realm of Conscience (宮心計2深宮計) which is currently airing and receiving compliments from the netizens.
Other than the main cast team, Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Annie Liu (劉心悠) and Alice Chan (陳煒), it also includes another group of actresses exceeding 40 years old and they are Pinky, Candy Law (羅霖), Akina Hong (康華) and Angie Cheong (張慧儀). The combination is considered eye-catching and the Chinese citizens praise Pinky’s acting skills after watching episode 23 which is broadcasted earlier than Hong Kong.
In episode 23, the story illustrated that Pinky decided to escape from the palace after the persuading from Annie in order to return to her hometown and reunite with her first love and her family. However, her brother and sister in-law came to the palace suddenly and told her that they sold all their assets and planned for the relocation.
At the time, Pinky begun to realise that she worked very hard for her family but they treated her as a money tree. She felt heart pain and her family demanded her to keep working in the palace and support them. Pinky then broke down in tears and cut all family ties with them.
In reality, Pinky is a filial woman who takes good care of her family. On 19th June 2018, the news reported that Pinky owned an apartment in Yau Ma Tei and a luxury apartment in Ho Man Tin. She also drove a branded car and was considered an invisible wealthy woman.
Subsequently,Pinky replied to the media on the same day: “My brother and I used to stay together many years ago. It is a two-bedroom flat and is too small after he gets married and becomes a father. Hence, I help my brother and mortgage my flat to the bank again, so that he has a place to stay. I am not a wealthy woman and need to pay for the mortgage and support my father. Although my brother is financially independent, but I have lots of debts to pay for and been driving Benz car for nearly 10 years. It is considered an old car.”
When mentioned about the compliments from the Chinese netizens, Pinky said: “I love the script and the entire drama. It is an emotional scene and I must argue with my family. I believe it is a good plot line and opportunity as I have more dialogues and have to cry for 3 days. I need to go solo and scold my family. I am worried about causing NG and fortunately, the effects is satisfactory and it makes me feel happy.”
