Rebecca Zhu and Carina Lau come from Suzhou; Rebecca treats her as a role model

Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) and Carina Lau (劉嘉玲) come from the same hometown, Suzhou. Rebecca was crowned as Ms Hong Kong 2011 and won Best Supporting Actress (最佳女配角) award based on A General, a Scholar, and a Eunuch (超時空男臣) drama at 2017 TVB Anniversary Awards (無綫頒獎禮). In Stealing Seconds (棟仁的時光) series, she faces a love triangle relationship with Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪) and Natalie Tong (唐詩詠). In addition, Rebecca is promoted to the female lead in new drama, The Stuntmen (特技人).

As her thank-you speech related to hoping the children and herself in China could carve out the careers in Hong Kong during an award ceremony made the netizens mad, Rebecca said: “I guess I feel nervous and fail to express myself well on that night. I am clueless about what to say and it is indeed hard to leave your hometown and work in foreign country. My main purpose is to encourage people to be brave and motivate themselves with positive mindsets.”

Although Rebecca works with Carina who comes from the same hometown and film From Vegas to Macau II (賭城風雲II) movie together, she dares not go up to her: “She is a super goddess in my heart and I transform into a fan and feel scared upon seeing her.
