Champion of Ms former Hong Kong, Shirley Yeung (楊思琦) releases her photo album this year and mentions the life and death encounter while shooting The Biter Bitten (人生馬戲團) drama. Although Shirley did not have the exact same story version as another female lead, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), but they insisted that they saw a group of people carried round moon scimitars dashing towards them. The netizens remarked it looked like a martial arts novel and full of creativity.
Are the villains indeed carrying round moon scimitars? One of the male leads, Michael Tong (唐文龍) accepted an interview from HK01 (香港01): “It happened more than 10 years ago. Shirley and Linda said they saw round moon scimitars but I only see long knives. Perhaps it does resemble moon shape and they believe it is round moon scimitars. Anyway, I cannot represent Shirley and Linda’s perspectives and only see long knives from my angle.”
Apparently, somebody pointed that Benny Chan (陳浩民) and Michael chose the wrong girl and offended the local black triad chief who was after them as a result. However, Michael clarified again that he did not fool around: “It is a hectic work schedule and hot weather over there. I seldom go out.” He added there was only 3 vans with people carrying knives at the time: “One van arrives first followed by two more vans. I reckon there is 3 vans in total and the guys dash out immediately with knives and sticks. We run away in separate ways immediately.” Again, it is slightly different from Shirley’s statement that there was 5 vans mentioned in her photo album.
As for the villains’ motives, Michael tried to find out about the reason after the incident: “We check with the karaoke club’s manager after that. He explained there was a group of people felt unhappy with the charges upon paying the bill earlier on that same day. Thus, they planned to teach them a lesson and we happened to be the victims. We definitely end up in hospital if they are really after us.” Checking about the rumours that TVB Executive, Ms Virginia Lok (樂易玲) and Ms Catherina Tsang had meetings with Benny and Michael separately and Benny even kneeled down for mercy, Michael kept tight-lipped instantly: “It happens long ago and I have forgotten about it.”
